Vile Coal aims to document the urban detritus marked by the privitisation of the State Electrical Commission in 1996. The townships of Morwell and Yallourn have a rich and vibrant local history that has enabled the growth of Melbourne as the metropolitan capital is it now. Now however these towns lay idle in the wake of what once was, relics in the landscape, old and rusting away.
